About Us

Find out more about Rodeo Cats.

We the 'Rodeo Cats' were officially formed in Kilkenny in Autumn 1999 and started classes in January 2000.

There was a group of us who decided to get together and make a push to form our organisation, due to the very strong interest that exists with American Line Dancing.

Our group initially consisted of and was formed by myself, Ray Cahill, Ailish Burke, Joan Holland, Noreen O'Dwyer, Aileen McDowell, Pat O`Brien, Ann O`Brien, Carmel Kiely, Therese Butler, Angela Hayes, Seamie Cuddihy and Liam Hurley.

Successfully getting up and running we then had the fun task of choosing our club name. A few ideas were thrown here and there, but eventually one name in particular stuck...'Rodeo Cats. The reasoning behind this was that we all wanted a strong link with both Kilkenny and with linedancing.
